ORLANDO, Fla. (Feb. 27, 2025) – Orlando City B has signed 2024 MLS SuperDraft selection Riyon Tori to a one-year MLS NEXT Pro contract through 2025, it was announced today.
“Riyon is a dynamic midfielder that we selected in the draft as an underclassman following our detailed scouting and analytics process and then brought into training with the group last summer,” said Orlando City SC VP of Soccer Operations and Technical Director Ricardo Moreira. “His playstyle provides both bite and energy in the midfield and he proved in his training stint last year that he has a good competitive drive and is ready to take that next step.”
The Lions selected Tori with the No. 83 overall pick in the 2024 MLS SuperDraft out of the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Tori played collegiately at St. John’s University before transferring to the Charlotte 49ers for his final two seasons of eligibility.
